Bensalem Lacrosse was founded by Coach Jim DeWees. Coach DeWees attended Father Judge High
School in Philadelphia where he founded and was the player-coach for their inaugural lacrosse team in
1992. Coach Jim went on to attend Towson State University attaining his BS. He then went on to
achieve a MS from National University and an MBA from the Smeal School of Business at Penn State.
As the father of two girls, Coach DeWees shared his love of lacrosse and began coaching his daughters at
Lower Bucks Lacrosse in 2012. Coach DeWees holds a level three certification from USA Lacrosse and
has coached varying ages and ability levels. In 2018 Coach DeWees started the Bensalem High School
Lacrosse program with his oldest daughter and has served as the Varsity Head Coach ever since.
In 2000 Coach DeWees co-founded 215 Lacrosse, a 501c3 aimed at growing the sport of Lacrosse in the
Bensalem and Neshaminy School districts along with competing in PAGLA. This year Bensalem Lacrosse will
differentiate itself from 215 and will focus specifically on Bensalem students, introducing two Bensalem
Middle school teams in its Inaugural year.
